How to Take ACTION and Change Your Life
Are You Wanting to Change Your Life?
Do you know that you want to change your life and build a freedom lifestyle, but don’t know how to take action? Are your limiting beliefs holding you back?
Between my Facebook Group and other Digital Nomad Communities I was surprised at how many people actually WANT to change their lives and know how they want to build their freedom lifestyle, but struggle to take action.
I am going to go through 4 reasons that can prevent you from taking action, and give you the solutions you need to change them.
Reason No 1: No Clear Vision
If you still struggle to clearly see, smell and feel how your future life as an Entrepreneur/Traveller/Digital Nomad will be like, it might be hard to take your dreams seriously.
I struggled with this for years. I have always been very determined to achieve my goals, as soon as I had one. However, as long I didn’t have a clear vision or goal, it was harder to work towards.
Solution: Visualization Exercises – Imagine Your Perfect Day
How does your life look like after you achieved your goal? Can you see it? What do you do?
Write down “Your Perfect Day” in as much detail as possible!
Don’t restrict yourself – you can be wherever you want and do whatever you wish, no responsibilities or limitations.
Ask yourself questions like:
- When would I wake up?
- Where am I?
- Who am I with?
- How much time do I spend working?
- What do I eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
When you are really visualizing you will see everything in great detail, take notes on things that stick out to you – how does the house/room/landscape look?
Reason No 2: No Strong Motivation
When I know what I want, I’m unstoppable. However, you have to want it bad enough.
Ask yourself what do you want NOW? To sleep in, to spend money or to eat heaps of chocolate?!
Then think about what you want the MOST? To save money and quit your job, create a successful online business and to move to Australia?
Solution: What’s your WHY?
Get a clear idea as to WHY you want to achieve what you want to achieve the most. This is closely connected to your purpose in life.
This will give you that motivation to GO FOR IT! What matters most to you in your life, what are motivators that drive you?
Core values are the fundamental beliefs of a person or organisation. They help you to know what is right from wrong. They create an unwavering and unchanging guide.
My personal Core Values are freedom, independence and variety.
Since I live in alignment with my core values, I left the box of expectations from others and finally feel free.
I base my “Why” on my Core Values.
I do what I do to create a freedom lifestyle full of travel and adventure for myself and others.
Reason No 3: Self Sabotage and Limiting Beliefs
Here are a few thoughts that might play a part in holding us back from achieving our dreams:
- We know we want it, but we don’t believe we will ever get there.
- Fear of failure allows us to procrastinate.
- Self-doubt cripples our confidence.
- We say we want it, yet we still seem to freeze and stay stuck.
- We sabotage ourselves.
Here are a few things that we might say that will hold us back from achieving our dreams:
- “I have no money to invest.”
- “I have to do … (a course, an education, more practice) first”.
- “I need to become brave, confident, sure about this first.”
- “I’m not ready yet.” Or “I’m not good enough yet.”
Solution: Affirmations, Journaling, Reframing and Creating New Positive Beliefs
Steps to take towards changing your limiting beliefs are:
Become aware of the limiting beliefs and hidden thoughts that have been holding you back in your life.
Example: “I am a slow learner. Things never work out the way I hope.”
Discover which limiting beliefs are holding you back from making that change your life at the moment. Listen for statements that you might tell yourself, beginning with
“I can’t”, “I’ll never”, “I shouldn’t”, “I don’t”, “It’s impossible” etc.
02 Discover if the belief is really true.
Example: My limiting belief was “I don’t have enough money”. I discovered this wasn’t true if I didn’t want it to be.
Create a turnaround statement:
Ask yourself what you would LIKE to believe instead and create a powerful turnaround statement!
Example: I thought about how I would LIKE to have enough money. I then thought of how to make money while traveling.
These turnaround statements are called Affirmations and have the power to reprogram your brain:
- “I am a successful social media manager with a consistent client flow”
- “I am enough”
- “I am confident in sales”
- “Money flows easily and effortlessly to me”
- “I am good at graphic design and can make money from it”
- “I am an extrovert and can meet new people anywhere I go”
03 Affirmations and Visualizations
“What does it feel like when I live my freedom lifestyle?”
Start imagining in all details how your perfect day and perfect life will look like. Turn your negativ beliefs into new positive beliefs that support you better!

Journal around your new positive affirmations. Write about yourself and your life “AS IF” it already happened. Repeat this as often as possible.
You can speak your affirmations out loud in front of the mirror as well, which might feel a bit awkward at the beginning; however it’s a very powerful exercise.
Reason No 4: No Action Plan
If we only see the overall goal (“I want to be a 6 figure coach”
Solution: Break it down in easy-to-do-action steps.
I break my goals down into milestones first, and after that I break the milestones into small action steps.
They must be small enough to not be scary!
Really small and doable!
In a way that you can start today!
